How can I delete a rating or recommendation?
How can I delete or edit a recommendation I made? A seller was sorry for *being rude and I want to delete my negative recommendation

To change / edit your feedback to your seller, you need to go to page of service you bought then scroll down to list of feedbacks, find your feedback and next to that you will see edit link

anwebservices has basically told exactly what you need to do to edit your recommendation. Personally, I would not do it, I feel that the only reason why they have apologised is because of the negative rating that you have given them. It's best to keep your recommendation so other buyers are aware of how this seller is.

You have a valid point there.
I am assuming that the original negative feedback was given based on something which is objective and not just a spur of the moment whim. The latter development about an apology from the affected party does not change the original negative feedback.
However, to be fair, it might be an idea to add a second note saying that the affected party has apologized. Then any reader can make his own conclusion.

I think you need to reach out to the support. They are the one usually help in removing the rating. I am not sure if this is done in past. So it's better to make support request. And explain them with proof. That should show you if that works out. I think rating is possible to remove from what I have seen.

I hope you finally get to remove the bad rate. I also hope this will help you to make a wise decision next time. Anger can make us rush and do things that we will regret later when the situation is cooled down. I am always tempted to give a bad review or feedback when I receive an unfair service but I always take my time to see if other users are also experiencing the same.

The problem with that is that it shouldn't be the case with freelancers. As a freelancer, you will always come across some difficult customers but you need to be able to keep your cool. If they can't and just get angry then that it not at all a good customer experience and the negative feedback is fair. If someone is rude to me, then they will get a negative review.

You can delete a rating or recommendation simply by logging in your control panel and clicking on posts. Under the post settings, you will find a complete list of the posts on which you were rated or recommended by other people based on what they find on your posts. It may not be necessary to delete ratings that are positive because such ratings will even add to your website search rankings and credibility.

Normally on those rare occasions when a purchaser leaves an average or satisfactory review or comment after working with me, I take the high road and just reply with "thanks for your business." I've never had a review where a buyer in any freelancing situation has insulted me personally or attacked me verbally. But I've had probably two that left under 3 star reviews. Even though I felt I delivered their work to the best of my abilities.

I was just about to explain how to go about it in the best way possible after reading the post of the thread, but then I came up the first comment by @anwebservices which to me suggestion has made a clear description of how to go about it.
