Ever considered earning money through online betting?

I'm very aware that some people would quickly frown at the prospect of getting into online betting as they would call it gambling which is actually what it is but as some people castigate it, they still go behind to participate in it. From my observations, an average individual who fancies sports most likely engage in online betting/gambling. It's not an ideal manner to make money online because there is no guarantees and it's risky but some lucky ones have made millions from online betting and casino games.

What's your take on online betting/gambling? Have you ever participated in anyone?

You don't "earn" money through online betting. I don't do it and I try to discourage my husband and kids from doing it. But they don't listen to me. I think online betting is no different from offline betting. It's not a way to earn money. It's just a way for you to lose most of your hard-earned money and make whoever owns the online betting site rich.

I do understand your sentiments and I do agree that online betting on casino games and game of chances can be quite harmful. But I've been doing it for years, well I don't play such games, I only bet on popular sport games like boxing, more so if Manny Pacquiao is fighting and even not so popular games which I'm a fan of like chess. I usually win 4 times out of 5, and I only bet when there's a good fight or match with players which I'm familiar with. You could also earn affiliate income from betting sites.

Betting is clearly gambling with your money. There is the probability for you to win and there is also the probability for you to lose. Whatever the outcome the money will surely be lost if you will continue betting. In order to earn from betting I think you need to do some kind of cheating to assure you of winning and thereby with a feeling that somehow you earned money by betting. But since you cannot cheat that means you are just gambling with your money.

As much as online betting gives you the thrill, I always have this mindset that I will be very upset if I try it. I always lose when I put a bet among my friends. Also, I haven't even tried being lucky at lucky draws and as much as it entices me, I have a strong urge to stop myself from "gambling" because I don't like taking risks in this field. I want to play safe and save money.

It's very understandable that one should be very weary of getting involved with online betting because truth be told, it have already rendered so many people useless and left them financially broken.

This is why it's always advised to bet responsibly and only bet with what you can afford to lose.

True there are other numerous and better investment options that one can choose rather than opting for one which is as chancy as betting. Why would you want to put your money where you know that the chances of getting it back are so low?

Betting on sports isn't bad, it's a form of leisure entertainment. I only bet on sports I'm familiar with like Basketball and Boxing matches. It's quite fun more so if I'm watching the game live.

I am sorry. I have never considered earning money through online betting. I might get poorer when I do and have losses.

That's true. Not everyone is equipped to handle the stress and addiction that might come with it. So better to stay away while you can. Prevention is better than cure. Especially, when losing money is involved.

Yes, I really agree with you. It's a form of gambling, and no one wins playing it, it's just your luck, so I guess if you want to improve your money, invest it to a company or put it into a bank.

I strongly agree with you. Investing money in a company is better than betting online. Betting is a form of gambling.

Good call. You're more likely to earn money through a form of investment. It would be much better for you. Gambling is too high a risk when it comes to your savings.

Investing your money in the right and know investment company has low risk compared of investing it to gambling. Gambling is gambling and nobody can sure that they will win.

That's what I like about it too. Low risk gives you a better chance of earning interest and your money back. You just have to be patient.

Yes, that's right. Desperation often brings in more problems. It's not the solution. It's much better to wait for the right time and find solid ways of earning money.

Desperation can make you lose so much money and this is something I have witnessed with a couple of my gambling friends. The final thing is then a couple of regrets where one wishes they had made better decisions from the start.

Gambling has more risks attached to losing than gaining. Let us assume that 1 million people bet to win a stake of $3,000,000 at $300 dollars each. The betting company will likely put away over $335,000,000 and comfortably pay the given winning and still be able to pay costs. The $3,000,000 acts as a bait to get you in the game. Your winning probability is 1:1,000,000 which is minimal.

Enter a reason for deleting this comment

jeffreyjose48

I agree with you. There is but a little probability for one to win in gambling. There is no certainty to win in online betting.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've won some scratch off tickets and yet I don't recommend buying them. It's okay if you buy every now and then without getting hooked. But most people are prone to chasing their losses. That could be dangerous if you can't stop losing money.

I never participated in an online betting. I don't like taking a risk in gambling since money is really hard to earn. I would rather work to earn and keep my money safe. I know that some people are lucky for winning millions but I don't believe that you will be forever lucky.

Enter a reason for deleting this comment

Everything you just mentioned about money being hard to earn is absolutely true and to put such hard earned money in an investment where there are high chances of losing it isn't a wise or popular decision.

It's with such determination to stay away from betting would be the only way to to resist it because believe me, it comes with its own temptation especially when you hear people's success stories with betting.

Right! I believe that gambling is not for everyone. Some are born to be lucky and I am not one of them. It can be addicting if you start to win but you will lose all of your money without noticing it.

I suppose that's the issue. One great advice is to walk away as soon as you win a fair amount of money. Because you'll eventually lose it if you keep playing more. That's how others were able to bring their winnings home and use it to buy food.

Enter a reason for deleting this comment

That most of the people advice actually but when the person feels like they would win in another try then that time things become mess. I am not a fan of any gambling games. Money is really hard to work and we need to be wiser on spending it.

You're right. Sometimes we're just lucky. I've actually won some money playing scratch cards. It was just enough to buy a few extra stuff at the grocery.

Still, I wouldn't tell others to spend their money on it. You're more likely to lose than win at all.

mark8625

I tried that once because my sister was very eager asking me to give it a try. I did the scratch card and for my disappointment I did not won. I am not a fan of super lotto or any legal gambling but still it is a gambling at the end of the day. I never try that again and I will never again.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's wise of you to stop buying them. They're actually not worth the money unless you win.

Only a few handful of people are lucky enough to get the jackpot prizes. Better not to assume anything like winning.

mark8625

Yeah that is correct. I stopped immediately because I could tell that was not my cup of tea. At the end of the day it was not my passion and doing it would not make me happy. I agree with you on that. Some people were born lucky to do that and we are not one of them I guess.

That's true. I'm happy for those who are lucky throughout their life. But there's more to life than money and good fortune.

Let's be thankful for the small things in life. Like peace of mind and good food.

Yes, we're already using money for necessary stuff. Like bills and groceries. Those are the essential things in life. Only those who are rich could afford losing money. Lots of middle class people don't even consider online betting.

mark8625

That is right. We need to use our money in a right way. We need to use it for buying something that we needed and pay bills. We have to manage it properly.

This is why people add more stress to their lives. They're playing with money they don't have. Because you'll eventually have to face the debt you accumulate in gambling.

So it's best for us to avoid the temptation. Just be content with what we have.

Enter a reason for deleting this comment

Most of the people I knew did that actually. When they dont have money anymore they pawn whatever they have to continue doing gambling. When they dont have resources anymore by that time they realized that what they did is just a completely mess that affected their entire life and only their relationship in their family.

The surprising thing is some people even borrow money from friends so they can bet if they don't have the cash hoping that once they win, they'll not only be able to pay the debt but also keep the "profits." It's quite risky since you'll need to pay this money back when you lose. Do it for too long and you get to be an addict - something that will drain away all your money and leave your broken and homeless.

Well, I have never ever earned money through online betting of any kind. I know some people who earn a lot of money through such kind of activities. I think you can get addicted to online betting even before you realise it. Once you earn some money through it, you will be tempted to bet again and again to earn more money. There is always a risk of losing a huge amount of your hard earned money if you are addicted to online betting. Its always better to stay away from such activities.

If I'm being very honest about earning money through online betting, I'm going to tell you that I have actually won a few times but have lost as well. Believe me, losing money on betting is a more guarantee than earning money which is why most people shy away from getting into betting. The sad thing about online betting or gambling is that it's addictive once you get into it, so it's safer to say that one should try as much as possible to stay away from it and only bet when you have cash you feel like throwing around. So, instead of uselessing the money put it in a possibility of getting twice of its worth in betting.

In short, some of them are already rich and they don't know how to spend their money. Though not all rich people think the same way like that. Regardless of how excellent it could get, it may also either move terrible actually quick or even worse, and begin really badly. I think high risk investments are different because generally speaking they're intended as something you ride out over the long term. For instance the stock market - a lot of people invest in those and they can be super volatile in the short term, but long term (over 10-20 years) you usually come out quite ahead.

Gambling though is extremely short term in scope and tends to be for the purpose of trying to get an immediate return, rather than investing in a long term tactic.

Could you explain your first statement? I don't get how long term investments are any different from the short term ones. Like in a mutual fund for example, you put money in it religiously. I feel that even if it's short term or long term, if the market is down, you're not going to be earning any money regardless.

I am not really fan of gambling so that idea haven't cross my mind. I think it is a big risk, you'll win big if you win but you'll also lose a lot if you didn't win.

It sure is. You can better your odds at earning money through legitimate investments. Betting is only for rich people who can still live after losing a small amount of money. And what's small to them is a lot of money for us.

I'm a gambling man and I've tried a lot of gambling sites and won a lot of money in some, specially when it comes to sports betting. I always bet on boxing matches, specially on Manny Pacquiao matches. I've tried online casino betting too and it's rigged you can't have a winning streak because it's totally rigged. But when it comes to NBA, World Cup, Boxing and other sports it's legitimate. I would recommend sports betting.

I don't think it's something I'd venture into. To me, the risk of losing more money than I'd gain is the biggest deterrent...I have no clue about betting or odds, so anything I'd try to do would really be a gamble, so to speak!

I prefer trying to do things that give me a definite return, rather than only a chance of one.

Me too. It's better to be successful at something you're good at. Like a business or professional job. You'll gain money from your own hard work. And you can use that to build more ways for potential income.

Absolutely. Right now I've got enough "sure thing" ventures where as long as I put in the work, I'll get paid - and that's enough for me. I get anxious even thinking about gambling and potentially losing big sums of money. Frankly, I'd be disappointed even if I wasted a small amount of money though!

Same here. Even small loss is counted. You can't waste money. Especially, if you're supporting your family. You need to think ahead and consider the consequences of your actions. I'm glad many of us are aware of the pitfalls of gambling.

I don’t consider gambling as eqrning money. The only one who are earning money are the owners of the gambling sites. I would join if it doesn’t require you money to join. But if betting your money in a game you willbnever win.

No, the odds of winning are outnumbered, I rather use my money to something fun like eating or maybe just invest it. But I don't see it as an impossible task that I would do in the future.

I did a little sports betting early last year. I'd bet $150, win $135 and then lose $150. I quit when I lost $450. Not a lot of money but I suppose there is a price one has to pay to learn something.

From my experience, sports betting is one of the fastest and easiest ways to lose your money. Sure you might win occasionally but odds are you'll end up losing more money than you win so why try it in the first place?

I am afraid to lose money on that kind of game. I would rather work hard to get the money that I can than to put a big bet and loose it all or win it all.

I've heard of people who kill themselves when they lose money that they couldn't afford to lose.

IMO except for the people who use software to find what bettors call "arbs" if there is no guarantee that you'll get back your money then shouldn't bet. It would be better to try your hand at forex trading for fast profits. At least you wouldn't lose all your money.

Yup, in my country you’ll often see advertising on TV or print about the dangers of gambling like it’s a drug. Which I guess essentially it is for some people. It can really impact people and get them deeper and deeper into debt.

I'm looking to seriously to get into online gambling. But not as a way of fun. If you do it seriously you can make enough money to at least to take care of your monthly expenses. If you do is as a business, I think you can make good money. They are lots of ways that you can do it. They are many online write ups on how you can do it. Off course you have to remember its gambling so use money that can afford to loose. But a great idea all around.

".... use money that can afford to loose.... "

This is the only way to avoid getting financially broke with gambling or online betting. Once it's the spare money that you can easily dash out or use for drinks, party and other vices, gambling with it will never advance your financial status in a negative manner.

Yes, I considered it but in moderation if i earn, ok good but if I know im losing more than in money I plan to bet on gambling, just stop already because you know the gambling if you being too absorb on that, you will lose a lot of money on it. The word Greedy, you will obtain the seven deadly sins.

Enter a reason for deleting this comment

Exactly! Being greedy is main reason why most people tend to lose so much when it comes to getting into online betting and gambling. It's true that you may lose money even when you bet or gamble with caution which is why you are told to gamble responsibly and only gamble with what you can afford to lose. Greed pushes you to bet with even borrowed money.

I don't consider it, because it's still an online gamble, and no one wins with gamble, it's all about the luck.

Gambling is risky, it's already rendered the too greedy ones financially broke but the funny thing is that our current society can't do without gambling.

It looks like an easy way to double one's money if you get lucky with the gamble but it's the most easiest way to lose your money without any back up.

I agree with you. If you're a person who doean't win at lucky draws even just in small gatherings, then don't expect that luck will side on you on this one. Since it involves money, it's a lot scarier.

I like to gamble online, but some really good gambling or betting sites are banned in my country. I usually bet on local online betting sites and some foreign betting sites which accepts bets from the Philippines like 1XBet. I only bet on sports, I don't play online casino games because most are cheats.

Betting/gambling is hyped to attract more customers. But, after my analysis, I avoid gambling as a plague. The chances of winning are very minimal. Actually, most people lose money instead of gaining. There is no single betting company that will tell the truth. As per my view, any gambling company or site is out there to make money and not loses.

The truth of the matter is that you will rarely become rich by gambling. Instead, you will be growing poor with the hope of earning more. My advice to any gambler I come across is simple, work hard to grow your wealth, and stop enriching someone while you are growing poor.

I have before however I decided not to as gambling/betting can become quite addicted. I actually have friends that are addicted to gambling and I can clearly see the effects of gambling...

I would rather invest into the stock market than to put my life savings away. You think that you, at first, won't put alot in but then you bet more and more and it becomes a issue if you're not careful.

I don`t think that gambling can be taken seriously as a method of earning real money. I think I have tried all possible variants;) I believe that today we need to test some new ways of gaining profit. I made a research and pretty sure Bitcoin is our future. Bitcoin is just the beginning of what cryptocurrencies are capable of, it isn’t the best cryptocurrency, it’s not the fastest, nor the most innovative. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency to gain prominence, it’s the first one people started hearing about, and so that’s why it’s price is so out of control. I have read a lot of resources on the topic and especially some specific one about proof of elapsed time for instance. If digging deep you can find a real treasure;)

Hi

I give my opinion that the adventurer in the risk in order to earn quick money is considered a serious mistake, even if he earns a lot of money because in the end he did not make money with the effort and will not benefit from it in any way.

If we go back to the basics, we say that the games of kazino gambling are all disobedience of God, you will not benefit if you win or lose (and the life of the world is nothing but)

Gambling and or Sports Betting sites also offers income opportunities like Affiliate Programs. I'm also against online casino betting games like Bacarrat, Roullette, Poker and Black Jack because in my opinion it's not too legit, you can be cheated. But when it comes to sports betting in popular matches in Boxing, Football and the like, well in my experience it's all legit.

The word betting means it is a way of winning or losing that in other words it is gambling. Now this is a question about earning from betting. How do you really do that? My husband is a fan of mixed martial arts fights and once in a while he would consult the odds on the fighters just to give him a better idea of which fighter to root for. His batting average is 50-50 which means if he was betting then he had not won but probably have lost because of the odds were always in favor of the house.

Well, I'm amazed with people who loves to spend their money on betting or gambling. It's their way of getting life's luck. They are great risk taker. They rely their fortune on it. Their ability to make for a living on hardship is ignored. These are type of people who likes to have easy money on easy work. We all have the choice to make in life. I once tried lottery before and I learned my lesson. Never get hooked with it just like games.

I never tried gambling online because I hate gambling. But my boyfriend gave it a shot once. We found a website wherein bitcoin is the currency being bet on. It is like poker tha you would have to put in a raise when you know your cards are good. Unfortunately, we lost the game. Good thing that we only risked a small amount on the game. After that we promised to never try it again as we are not sure if our opponents are really human or just bots playing around.

Online or offline, gambling is gambling. It goes against my beliefs and I won't be trying it even though there's a possibility of getting rich quicker. I think some people are drawn to gambling because they like the thrill of the risk and they have their eyes on the prize. Let's face it, the prize is indeed tempting. I may not agree to gambling/betting and risking money but if that works for others then the best of luck them!

No, I somehow feel it is not satisfactory. I do not involve in online betting. It is an illegal way of earning money and there are a lot of middlemen involved in online betting. You need to aware of all the odds and the outcomes of the matches and you can lose out on everything is result is not in your favor. It is a very very risky business. Hard earned money is always sweet and you can realize the importance of money only when you earn it by putting in your effort physically.
